Metaphysical Properties: Obsidian is lava that has cooled too quickly for minerals to form. Although its most common colour is black, obsidian can also be found in a variety of other colours. For example; Snowflake obsidian is dotted with white patches where parts of the rock have begun to crystallize and Rainbow obsidian is coloured with purple, green and gold bands of sheen.
